OMG, it's a cat!

Have you noticed the cat in our logo? It's a funny story...

I've always loved animals, but living in a small flat meant that a cat was the most practical choice. Cats were also the most accessible to me; I often encountered them on the streets and always tried to befriend them with varying degrees of success.

Later, our friends had a litter of Siamese kittens, and my family adopted one. Yes, you guessed it. He was Dudu—the one and only, my precious and beloved cat. We adored him immensely.

You know, most people don't truly understand cats. They harbor baseless prejudices and weird misconceptions about their nature, but they are all wrong.

It's not true that cats don't love people. They don't automatically love everyone, but they certainly love their owners, a.k.a. their human parents. Parent? Yes, because what does a parent do, hm? They feed you, take care of you, love you, take you to the doctor, administer your medicines, and set boundaries; tell you what to do and what not to do...

Dudu and all my cats have always kept me company—following me to the bathroom, even to the toilet, sleeping next to me, and staying in the same room as me. They entered when I entered and left when I left. They laid next to me when I was busy and greeted me when I arrived home.

Most people might say they just wanted food, but they are totally wrong. Cats aren’t as food-obsessed as everyone thinks. Our cats have always had the freedom to eat whenever they want. They have constant access to fresh water and dry food, and they know how to politely inform me when they want wet food; they sit patiently in the kitchen, exactly at the spot where they usually get their meal, and meow when I pass by. That's all. Their other actions are not motivated by food.

However, people don't trust anything until they see it for themselves.
And when they do, they feel as if they've been blindfolded the whole time and are just now waking up. And suddenly, they want a cat too. This has happened to more men(!) than I care to remember.

Cats possess so many human characteristics. When we first got Dudu, he used to eat from people's plates. We didn’t allow this, and it took some time for him to get used to the new rules. I have a fond memory about it: I was eating my soup, and Dudu came over wanting some, but I told him he could only have it after I finished. He was offended... He turned around, laid down, and when I spoke to him, he only twitched his ears but didn't turn back, especially did not come to me. I tried calling him closer, but he ignored me. After I finished my soup, I called him again and told him he could have the rest. He immediately turned around and happily came to eat.

He was a gentle and empathic cat who comforted me when I needed it most. This was his best characteristic. He was my real cuddle buddy. I miss him so much.

I don’t have many photos of him, not only because I didn't have a good camera back then or enough talent for photography, but also because Dudu hated to be photographed. Once, he was grooming himself, which I found adorable and wanted to capture. However, as soon as he saw the camera, he not only laid down but also put his tail over his head, which he never did otherwise... Sometimes, I tried to entice him by playing so I could snap some photos. You can’t even imagine the look he gave me when I paused the play to press the shutter button.

Okay, well, who could blame him? Not everyone likes to be in the spotlight, even if they are as beautiful as he was.

I wish I could watch my memories of him like watching a movie.

I know this all sounds sentimental, but animals are significant creatures in my life, as you will see in my upcoming blog posts, too.

When we began building our own family, alongside my furry children, I finally had my hairless children — or at least for a while, since they are boys.
I wanted to create something for them, so I decided to start my own business, which became a third kind of child for me. Since Dudu was such a precious cat to me, I spent a long time thinking about a name for my company. Eventually, I realized I could never find a better name than his.

So, that’s the story behind my company's name.

We hope you enjoyed this glimpse into the heart and history behind our brand. Do you have a beloved pet with a story to tell? We’d love to hear about your furry friends and the joy they bring to your life! Share your stories in the comments below, or on our social media pages.
